The "Police Riot" Tape Catalogue |
Paul DeRienzo is a freelance reporter and programmer for Pacifica radio's New York station WBAI-FM. When the sparks flew that summer night he was there with his newly purchased SONY D-5M tape recorder. The following tapes were made over the year following the Tompkins Square Park rebellion, his documentary is the first tape in the catalogue, it's an essential staring point for historians, journalists and free spirits who want to understand what happened in Tompkins Square Park.
Paul DeRienzo continues to cover the politics and social fabric of New York City and the lower East Side, together with his partner Joan Moossy, a world renowned actress and comedian.
