Epstein, Becker & Green attorney John Murdock sits on the Pacifica board. He and his law firm have just rewritten the Pacifica by-laws to pave the way for the sale of one or more Pacifica stations and to allow board members to profit from such sales.

Epstein, Becker & Green is a notorious anti-union law firm. On its web site, the company boasts that it helps employers counter union organizing campaigns and maintain a union-free workplace (www.ebglaw.com/prac_41.htm).

The firm also specializes in representing the HMO industry and, among other things, has worked to defeat the passage of the Patients¹ Bill of Rights in Congress. Now, Epstein, Becker & Green is representing Pacifica management in its anti-labor and anti-free speech practices from targeting Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman to suppressing web sites critical of the Pacifica Board. Epstein, Becker & Green is defending Pacifica in three California lawsuits. The lawsuits are challenging the abolition of democratic structures at the network and the arbitrary way the Pacifica Board operates.
