Dear Friends:
Ken Ford, Vice Chair of the Pacifica National Board, must resign.
On July 10th, the Pacifica Campaign kicked off nationwide
protests against Ken Ford at 12 affiliate offices of the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the anti-environmental and
anti-disability rights group where Ken Ford works. This was on the
heels of an email campaign in which thousands of you voiced your
opposition to Ford.
We are now organizing the next National Day of Action for
Wednesday, August 8th.
The July 10th Day of Action registered on NAHBıs radar screen.
Uncomfortable with Ken Fordıs activities on the Pacifica Board and
the resulting fallout, NAHB managers and affiliate officers have
been trying to distance themselves from what they call "something
(Ford) does on his own time."
The press is beginning to pick up the story. An interesting
article in an online trade magazine, can be found at http://www.globest.com/RMIWT3QMEOC.html. Also,
local papers covered the protests, and on Tuesday, July 24, a WBAI
producer covered the National Day of Action on "Health Action" despite the gag rule.
Pacifica Campaign protesters reported back to us that the actions
were very positive. Coalitions between environmental, disability and
free-speech rights groups were initiated and have continued to grow.
Letıs step it up! The next National Day of Action will happen on
August 8th. Please consider joining the growing voice of the

her know what you're planning in your local area.
