Whom I Admire

Joanie has been a friend of my momÕs ever since college. When I was little she would come visit us often, but then she moved to New York City. I will always remember her crazy and outgoing personality. This winter when we went to visit her, she took us on a tour of New York. Her apartment is very small, so she let me and my family stay in her apartment while she stayed with her fiance who also lives in New York. If we ever needed her she would drop what she was doing to help us. Joanie is one of the most considerate and selfless people I have ever known. I have always thought that she acts, thinks, and sometimes even looks like a teenager, yet she is in her mid-40Õs. She is like a twig, extremely skinny and tall as a skyscraper. She has chocolate brown hair, honey brown eyes, and is usually wearing outrageous clothing. ThatÕs another outstanding quality that Joanie has. She never has cared what anyone else thinks of her. If she likes who she is, then its good enough for her and she would never change just because someone else wants her to. As I get older I can only wish to share her idea of individuality. Furthermore throughout college and in the present she is and always was involved in activist groups. She has also earned a law degree at Pittsburgh University. In her most recent case she filed a class action suit against her landlord for neglecting building restoration. She is determined and hardworking. I miss visiting her and it has only been a couple of months since weÕve seen her. When I grow up I hope to be half as kind as she is. I donÕt think I could ever forget a person like her as long as I live.
